How to Uninstall and Remove iTunes Completely From Your Computer?

Is iTunes not the right fit for you now since various similar music media are out there? Are you going nuts trying to uninstall iTunes these days? Are you driven mad when you fail to remove all the traces of the annoying software which prevent you to install the one you prefer? Anyway, it happened to me before when I used Apple. I am not sure how many means you have applied hoping to delete it. Here I just want to share with you my painstaking experience on how can I finally completely get rid of it with great satisfaction. Let's go!

Frequently used and the easiest method to uninstall iTunes

Like others who are not computer educated, I firstly tried the Control Panel on the PC to remove the application. Please follow the steps:

1. Quit iTunes.
2. Click Start, and hit Control Panel.
3. Find out Add/Remove Programs applet.
4. Click the Change or Remove Programs button on the top of the left list.
5. Scroll down the list and highlight this software, then click Remove to uninstall.
6. Restart your computer after this removal is finished.

After doing all these, I naively thought that I have finished the task and next I could install the one I like. Guess what? I got pop-ups telling me that it is not allowed to install the software because of some errors. Later, I knew the leftovers are the cause. Then let's continue.

How to remove iTunes from Mac OS X?

1. Quit all the programs you are running.
2. In the Finder, Click Go and then Applications.
3. Locate iTunes and drag it to the Trash.
4. Click Go-Utilities. (If Utilities is not available under Go, please choose Go-Go to Folder, and then type in / Applications/ Utilities/, then click Go)
5. Open Activity Monitor.
6. Locate and select iTunes Helper. Click Quit Process. Hit Quit when the dialog box comes up.
7. Quit Activity Monitor.
8. Open System Preferences.
9. Click View-Accounts and hit Login Items.
10. Search for iTunes Helper entry and select it, then click the "-" button to delete it from the list.
11. Quit System Preferences.
12. From the Finder, choose go-go to Folder.
13. Find out "/System/Library/Extensions" and then click Go.
14. Locate the file AppleMobileDevice.kext and drag it to the Trash.
15. Choose Go-Go to Folder.
16. Enter "Library/Receipts/" and then click Go.
17. Locate the file AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg and drag it to the Trash.
18. Empty the Trash. ITunes should be fully removed from your PC now.

The same as the time before, I thought it should be perfect after following those instructions, but again I was wrong. There are still some registries and useless files and profiles left. What the hell is going on with the program? Is it very complex for you? Want any ways easily to uninstall iTunes? Follow me!

A sophisticated program to conduct a clean iTunes removal

It can be told that you are so lucky because you don't need to follow the way I have experienced. It was really a nightmare. A program named Best Uninstall Tool offers a complete and revolutionary solution to thoroughly search, precisely locate and completely get rid of iTunes and its leftovers, such as broken registry keys, unnecessary files and folders. The automatic solution has been quite easy for computer users to remove iTunes easily and completely out of box. I am sure you will get the deletion done quickly and happily with Best Uninstall Tool like me.

Free download Best Uninstall Tool here at http://www.uninstallhelp.com/ to help you fully uninstall iTunes with great success and make sure all the now-defunct registry entries and related files are eliminated automatically with a few clicks. Aside from this software, it can also completely remove other programs like Authentium, Norton, Trend Micro antivirus, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, and similar programs which are considered difficult to uninstall.

The Light Bulb

Thank god for the invention of the light bulb, which has changed our lives dramatically. If nobody had invented the bulb, we would most likely still be living in the dark ages or perhaps lighting oil or lighting candlewax to generate light. That would be so inconvenient! Imagine the dropping of our productivity because we cannot work well when there is no light. Furthermore, it would be so strange if everything was as it is now, i.e. our computers and internet but we do not have any bulbs!

The incandescent light bulb, also known as the incandescent lamp or incandescent light globe provides a light source through the use of electricity. The method of light provision is known as incandescence. This refers to the creation of light energy (and heat energy) from electrical energy. How this works is that an electrical current passes through a thin filament, which is a special metal which is coiled up tightly within the light bulb. The electricity heats it up and the filament coverts the current into light and heat. Within the light globe it is not normal air but actually an inert gas like xenon or argon. This is because we cannot allow oxygen to oxidise the filament. That means the filament would react with the oxygen and burn out. The enclosed glass bulb and the inert gas within it thus prevent the oxygen in the air from reaching the hot filament, and destroying it by oxidation.

Actually the light bulb had many inventors. But most people associate Thomas Alva Edison as the inventor of the light bulb. Some the main factors which attributed the success of Thomas Edison's light bulb included that fact that he found an effective filament which was able to burn brightly, he used a good pump and was thus able to produce an effective vacuum inside the light bulb and finally, the filament also had a high resistance thus allowing proper power distribution and also more conversion of electrical energy into light energy.

Similar to the bulb we cannot do without electricity, which is not only used to power the bulb but all other electrical components as well. Similar to the light bulb also is that there were more than one inventor of electricity. Maybe the correct question should be who discovered electricity and not who invented electricity. I guess most of us are familiar of how Benjamin Franklin was curious if lightning is electricity and he decided to fly a kite (that had a metal key at the bottom of the string) during a bad electrical storm. When a bolt of lightning hit the kite, a spark of electricity actually flew from the key. This experiment led Benjamin Franklin to believe that metal attracts lightning, which is also electricity. He then invented the lightning rod to attract lightning and draw it into the ground to prevent lightning from striking buildings directly.

As a tribute to the light bulb, I would like to introduce to you this cool USB toy light bulb. If you like this kind of a USB toy, why not take a look at my USB toy to discover other interesting geeky toys? See you there!

Wolves, Bears and Buffalos, God Love 'em!

Yellowstone is the place of the rebirth of the Grizzly Bear, the Gray Wolf, and the American Bison (or buffalo). These critters were getting into short supply, and the environmentalists, who care about such shortages, did something about it. Now we’ve almost got as many bears, wolves, and Buffalo as we do environmentalist.

I met Maggie Finch-Hunter at Mack’s Inn on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River. Maggie is not a finch hunter, she is a finch observer. She has one of those hyphenated names. Her husband was blasted out of existence in Bush War II, but she has kept a stiff upper lip.

The part about her husband getting killed in Bush War II was a lie. I added it to make this article look more like a current event.

Her husband left her to join the circus.

No, he left her to become a Hollywood star and needed at least one divorce under his belt if he ever wanted to be famous.

I’ll stick with that last one. It has a trace of truth in it.

Maggie told me to hop into her jeep. She was going to Big Springs.

Big Springs is the headwaters of the Henry's Fork of the Snake River where Rainbow trout spawn in large numbers, making it a renowned fishing spot in the Mountain West.

Downstream is the Big Springs National Water Trail, a four-hour float trip with scenic forest, mountain views, and wildlife. (One place to read about Island Park and the surrounding area is: [http://www.westyellowstonenet.com/island_park/island_park_idaho.php].)

I hopped into the jeep.

I said, “Maggie, didn’t a hermit live up at Big Springs?”

The jeep hit a bump about throwing me behind in the dust cloud.

She said, “Wasn’t a hermit. Johnny Sack was a German cabinet maker who in 1929 leased land at Big Springs from the Forest Service."

I said, "Is the cabin still there?"

She said, "You were up there yesterday, weren't you?"

I said, “My readers don't know I was up there. You are too callous, Maggie. It’s because your husband left you for Hollywood, isn’t it?”

She laughed and said, “What husband? No man would marry a woman that is never home but always out looking for Dall sheep that live on alpine ridges in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge. What man would want to chase me up there?"

(Read about Dall sheep at: http://library.thinkquest.org/3500/dall_sheep.html.)

I said, “I guess you do have a point: unless you are rich, of course.”

At the headwaters of the Henry’s Fork of the Snake, folks were loading themselves into canoes and onto rafts for the fun-filled journey downstream.

I said, “Do you know why the fisherman fish under the bridge back at Mack’s Lodge?”

Maggie smiled and said, “Because the swallow poop drops from the bridge every time a car or truck speeds by and the fish feed on it. It’s easy to catch fish there.”

She added, “Tee Hee!”

I said, “Yum, yum! That’s why I don’t fish there. I don’t want to eat swallow poop.”

Island Park is down in a huge volcanic caldera similar to the one that encompasses much of Yellowstone Park. (You can read about it at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Island_Park_Caldera.)

Mack’s Lodge burned to the ground some years ago and was never rebuilt, but they have camping areas for trailers and tents, cabins, and a motel for guys like me who don’t like to pull humongous trailers and hate to camp on the ground. (See http://www.macksinn.com/)

I said, “Maggie, why do you stay down here instead of up in West Yellowstone?”

“Summer crowds. It’s close to Yellowstone Park and I like it down here.”

I said, “We were up in the Park yesterday. We saw a zillion elk and buffalo, but not one black bear. I guess they are still shooing them to the back country.

"I read in the newspapers that the buffalo are overflowing from the park causing brucellosis in ranch cattle (see: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/vs/nahps/brucellosis/)

"Also, the wolves are attacking cattle and sheep, and the Grizzly Bears are terrifying ranchers and school children.” {Read about the Grizzly Bear problem at: [http://www.bcwf.bc.ca/documents/s=335/bcw1128053820869/])

She looked up at the forest fire that was approaching Mack’s Inn and said, “Isn’t nature wonderful!”

Well, there really was a fire even if there was no Maggie!

The End

Finding an Email Spam Filter that Works

Do you spend most of your time in front of a computer? If you do, then you belong to the millions of other individuals who work with a computer in this day and age. A lot of people are now using computers to do a variety of tasks for a company or privately owned business.

However, people who go to great lengths to create trash that we don't want anything to do with also exist. You've probably figured out that the trash I'm referring to is formally known as spam. There's a good chance that find a lot of them in your inbox every morning. It's almost impossible to avoid them unless you have a new-age email spam filter on your computer.

Do you use an email spam filter to avoid spam? Your computer probably has a decent pop up blocker if it's a relatively new machine. The email spam filter is a bit different from a pop up blocker. This is because it mostly depends on what kind of email account you use.

I personally use a hotmail account. When hotmail hit the cyberspace airwaves, everyone snatched up a free hotmail account. This is understandable because we all want free email accounts. You probably have a gmail account through Google if you don't have a complimentary hotmail account. However, it's a tough one as far as the email spam filter goes.

A hotmail account has a feature called junkmail. If you receive an email that is clearly spam, then it will be re-directed into the junkmail account. However, this is not an effective email spam filter in my opinion. This is because I still have to go in and empty the stupid junkmail box all the time. I think that an email spam filter should not let these types of mail through in the first place.

It's alright if it comes through the first time because I can label it as spam immediately after I noticed them. This way it can never breech my email account walls again. There would also be no need to continuously click unsubscribe on the bottom of every email that slips through. That is my concept of an ideal email spam filter.

How To Speed Up Your Dial up Connection

Do you remember the days? Firing up your 200Mhz turbo PowerPC, dialling up using your 56k modem, waiting an age for your hotmail page to show up, waiting some more to check your e-mails only to have your connection die just as you hit the send button! How times change.

It's funny, once you've used broadband you quickly forget how painful the dial up connection was. I used to run my business on dial up and looking back I managed rather well. But these days there's no way I could do without my broadband connection.

There's no doubt about it, broadband is well and truly here to stay. It is of course a logical progression - streaming audio and video demand much higher bandwidth and broadband connections are the only way to achieve anything which is at all usable.

A recent survey revealed that 53% of Americans who use the Internet now use a broadband connection. What they failed to point out is that obviously this means 47% still use a dial up connection. This actually equates to around 60 million people. These kind of statistics are mirrored in other developed countries. When you consider a large chunk of the developing world still uses dial up then you realize that's an awful lot of people still using a slow Internet connection.

So is it possible to speed up your dial up connection?

Well actually yes it is. There are quite a few services online these days allowing you to "accelerate" your dial up connection. These Internet accelerators claim to be able to boost the speed of your dial up connection by as much as six or seven times.

Before you scream with delight at this prospect I feel I should point out right now that these accelerator services are not high speed broadband Internet services. They use a different kind of technology based on the same idea as things like zip files and mp3 files. These files use a compression algorithm to dramatically reduce the file size.

Internet accelerators work in the same way and most providers have also implemented a caching technology whereby they store local copies of popular web sites. These local copies are pre compressed and can be sent to the user very quickly. The user has a piece of software sitting on their PC which decompresses the data as it comes in. This is how the dramatic speed increases are achieved.

Many people report excellent success with these systems. Some people are even comparing the accelerators with broadband services

So while this is a really good thing for basic web pages, the technology falls down as soon as you start working with large video or audio files etc. Since an mp3 file is already compressed there's not much more compression that can be done and so the Internet accelerator has little effect. Plus many services have a file size limit meaning they will not even attempt to compress anything as big as a regular pop music mp3 file.

But if you're just loading up normal web pages without too much flash animation and all the other bells and whistles, then I highly recommend you get yourself an accelerated service. If your ISP doesn't offer it there are plenty that do so vote with your feet and check out some of these excellent services.

For more information simply search Google or Yahoo! for the term "dial up accelerator" or something like "speed up my dial up connection". You'll find lots of providers ready to supply you with service.

Some popular services in the USA are NetZero and Earthlink. In the UK you want to be taking a look at someone like Mistral or Onspeed.com

You Said What? God Bless You, President Bush!

This is what President Bush said to an Italian journalist:

I thought it was a really good statement, powerful moment when a major political party nominates an African-American man to be their standard bearer. And it's good for our democracy that that happened. And we also had a major contender being a woman. Obviously Hillary Clinton was a major contender. So I think it's a good sign for American democracy.

President Bush has taken many a hit during his presidency. His ratings are almost as low as the United States Congress.

He is often criticized for his ineptness in speech such as portrayed every weekday evening on the David Letterman Show.

Jay Leno loves to quip on some ineptness of President Bush, usually questioning his ability to think.

Well, perhaps you have read some of my unkind remarks.

Every once in a while, the President will say something that surprises me. It is nonpartisan and it is patriotic. I have to commend President Bush on the above statement.

We are in a time of great change in America. Our dollar has been left unattended. Its value has dropped like a 10-pound lead sinker. That is one of the main reasons that we are paying more for everything from apples to gasoline.

The American dollar is no longer worshiped worldwide.

Outsiders are investing in gold and more stable currencies.

Those owning our debt are nervous. They are using that resource to buy up American companies and real estate.

Because of our marketing agreements with other countries, we are at a great disadvantage. Our jobs have been shipped overseas. Frankly, our country is broke. Our economy is shakier than a Quaking Ash.

Young couples getting married are in jeopardy.

Debt has conquered thousands of families and continues to march. Some go to food banks and shelters and leave hungry and unclothed.

While all this is going on, Congress could care less. They continue to entitled themselves to our hard earned cash. They continually strip the President from his right to veto such pork barrel projects.

If a congressman want to put a museum in Sickum, Georgia, he does it. Not only that he makes sure his daughter-in-law receives a good salary as the museum director.

So we ARE in a recession which will most likely will become a depression.

President Bush has ordered rebates to taxpayers to help stimulate the economy. This action is exactly what our international critics say is wrong with America. We print too many greenbacks.

I read an article in the local rag that one clergyman has told his parishioners that they should give their rebates to his church so that his agenda can be pursued. Forget about using that money to feed the family, purchase gasoline, or pay off a debt.

Greed hurts!

I was born in the Great Depression. Somehow because of good neighbors and FDR we kept our home and never missed a meal.

Almost everyday, a hobo would come down from the railroad tracks passing all of our neighbors and knock on our back door. Our neighbors would say, "There goes another bum to the Joneses."

We first invited these hungry, deprived men into the house, but one day, a big black man became very obnoxious, scaring the hell out of we kids. Dad took him out of the house with the poker from the kitchen stove.

After that singular incident, we kept them outside. They were all good men as far as I could see, even the big black man that scared us. He obviously was suffering from mental illness.

Most all of those men of the rode wanted to work for their beans and bread.

Going into another depression does not terrorize me a much as our government being, in general, such an inept institution, and our continual intolerance for each other.

Have you noticed the political cartoons. Obama is usually shown as a stereotype black man from the past as shown in old movies.

Hillary Clinton is shown as a hag.

John McCain is shown as a on-his-last-leg old man.

Comedy is cruel. Cartoonist are cruel.

Sometimes we are cruel.

Because of prejudice against women and blacks, we sometimes don't listen to what is being said. Some of us will not vote for a presidential candidate who is black or female. That is the sad thing about America.

Despite our holier-than-thou attitudes, American still moves on.

We have overcome much of our past.

I saw Martin Luther King in a Philadelphia hotel long before he gave his "I have a dream" speech.

I thought: There is a man on the move.

Well, he did move us towards tolerance.

The point is that where some of us have been cruel, the President showed in intrinsic kindness.

I praise him for what he said.

It makes me want to climb up my flagpole to give a closer solute to the American Flag.

Flag Day is June 14.

Fly Old Glory!

UFO: Where Did the Man on No Name Moon Hide in 1969?

Some questions keep bugging me.

For example, when I was five years old in 1937, what caused the blimp Hindenburg to explode terrifying that radio announcer at Amherst, New Jersey?

(See the video at: http://www.vidicom-tv.com/tohiburg.htm)

And when my dad was twelve years old in 1912, why didn't the Titanic hit the iceberg head-on and save the ship?

(Go to: http://octopus.gma.org/space1/titanic.html to learn in short-form the details of the Titanic.)

My main question is: When our firstborn son was 12 years old in 1969, where did the Man on No Name Moon hide during our lunar explorations starting July 20, 1969?

(Go to: http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/pao/History/ap11ann/introduction.htm to read about the 30th Anniversary of the first landing.)

I heard a shuffling behind my chair. A girl's voice said, "They were stupid to use hydrogen."

It was Xrytspet again. I said, "Scram, Xrytspet!"

"Well, they were. They should have used helium."

I said, "Xrytspet, they would have used helium if they had helium. I've figured that they made it 99.99988789% of the way across the Atlantic. Round that off and they made it!"

"Tell that to the charred ashes of those who were in the 0.00012%."

I try not to laugh when Xrytspet is serious.

I said, "What caused the explosion; any analysis report from Fanton in G10009845788899990766?"

She flashed her lovely yellow eyes and said, "On the Net?"

"I'm always on the Internet when I'm writing. You know that, Xrytspet."

"Let me get up to that keyboard."

She pushed me aside and I plopped down into a pile of papers. She ignored my plight and typed a zillion miles an hour.

I tried to catch the code, but I'm not a super speed camera.

The screen went blank and the printer sent out a single sheet of paper. Before I could grab it, she hid it behind her back.

She said, "It was a spark!"

I said, "Give me that you little liar!"

She laughed and handed it to me. It read: xpffpt swrivtllssswaa flgzzzrffphll English translation for Taylor Jones, the hack writer, "It was a spark!" signed Silzrack.

I said, "What about the man on No Name Moon?"

Xrytspet said, "What about the Titanic?"

I said, "I know about the Titanic. If the captain had known that it would be disastrous to skim past that iceberg rather than hitting it head-on, that is exactly what he would have done."

"He should have slowed when he got the iceberg reports."

"We all know that, Xrytspet. The man on No Name Moon?"

She said, "There is no man on No Name Moon. You are just a child!"

At least she didn't call me an idiot like she usually did.

I said, "My mother showed me the man on No Name Moon. Are you calling my mother a liar?"

Xrytspet said, "Let's hop into the FnL7 Time Craft."

That's when it dawned on me that Silzrack had signed the communication from Fanton in G10009845788899990766.

The speed of light was nothing to these Fantonians.

Xrytspet said, "It is surprising to an earthbound idiot."

I said, "You don't have to read my mind and you don't have to call me an idiot."

She said, "Oh! Was that you I was talking about?"

The FnL7 Time Craft didn't puff the dust of No Name Moon but my feet did.

For some reason I could not feel the heat and I could breath. I said, "Any reason why I'm not dead?"

She said, "Tee Hee!"

I said, "Are you going to answer my question?"

"When you get into the FnL7 Time Craft you are turned into a robot. Robots don't feel heat or cold."

"Last time you told me you were frozen when you traveled in space. So, where am I then, if I'm not here?"

"Back on Earth writing that stupid article. See, there is nobody here on No Name Moon but us chickens!"

All-Spice - The Medicinal Properties

All-spice is a quay ingredient and greatly used in cultural cooking and is native to the Caribbean Islands. When the fruit is dried out at this point the fruit looks like dried peppercorns. The whole fruits are said to have a longer shelf life than the dried powder type. This product produces a more aromatic flavor when freshly ground before use.

The all-spice leaves also has great cooking properties and is used where available in cooking they are similar in look to bay leaves. They are used to infuse food and disgared when serving.

Another us for the wood and leaves of this plant is to smoke meat and dry fish.

All-spice is not, as some people believe, a mixture of spices. Rather, it is the Dried fruit of the pimento plant. This fruit is picked and dried out in the sun, when ripe the fruit is green but when the fruit has undergone the drying processes they turn brown and have the resemblance of large peppercorns. The whole fruits in my opinion are a much better product as they have a much longer shelf life, than what its powdered form will give. It is much better to ground this spice just before using it as it will give a more freshly prepared flavor and the aromatic essence of the fruit is brought out.

The leaves of the all-spice plant are generally used in cooking by the natives in the Caribbean Island. They use leaves in cooking where possible as it has grown to be part of there culture. The pimento leave is very similar to bay leaves they have a common use amongst the natives of the Caribbean thus used to infuse the food with flavor then removed at the time of consumption. All- spice has another more common trait as the wood and leaves are used to smoke meat or fish and vegetables. All-spice being a local crop it is also found in essential oils.

Spice are also known for there natural medicinal properties. All- spice is commonly known as a seasoning, spice, or an extract usually derived from food. The content of nutrients and non-nutrient substances are minimal, and that is due to the fact that they are consumed in small amounts.

However spices give variety and flavor to the food also helping to stimulate the appetite encouraging the flow of the digestive juices. They are well known both in the Caribbean Island and in Europe for its soothing properties. It has been known to be the host of many colds and flu remedies around the world, medicinally all-spice is a digestive aid that promotes the digestive enzymes, and it is a natural anesthetic and helps with muscular pain and tooth ache. So that's why I think all spice is a culinary giant in the world of spices.

How to Stay Sober 5 Years Without AA

As I secretly celebrate my 5th year of sobriety I feel the need to express how I have managed to do so on my own, my thoughts, and my feelings and how I have been sober without AA. This is not slamming or slandering AA I have used some of their beliefs and know if you work it it works. However individuals are unique and there is no universal cure for Alcoholics, no pill, sometimes no amount of jail time that will stop someone from drinking. With that said what I have used and applied is... " I don't want to drink "

If you have a problem or have had one there are needs "I need a drink" and wants "I want to go out have a good time"... My last story of drinking ends with me having a lot of time to myself and reflecting...

Who were friends and who were "Drinking Buddies"
Who was I...Was I liked because " I drank and I encouraged fun times "
What was I accomplishing?
Where was my life was at the moment
Where was my life would be if I did not drink
When was this going to stop...there was no end in sight
Why I did drink...Why Should I quit
That I could continue down the path I traveled where would I end up...what would be the end result
I was emotionally shot and financially living paycheck to paycheck
How drinking has affected generations upon generations of my family

My one or two glasses of Wine at night before bed were slowing increasing with my tolerance. My drinking episodes ended with 3 dollars in my pocket every morning (a mixed drink 5.00-8.00 a beer 4.00). I had a lot going on in my life and I had lost control of everything... I worked in the financial market and at nightclubs. Money and access to people living the same type of lifestyle was always easy to find. But it came to an abrupt halt. With time on my hand I began reflecting...on the questions above. And 6 months later when finally faced with the option and ability to begin drinking I had a decision to make...and a quick one...and I refused to drink.

Instead of the nightly drink before bed I began meditation, I read the book "No Matter where you go there you are." I explored natural healing and essential oils...Lavender, Yling Ylang, Tea Tree, Clary Sage, All have chemicals that are very relaxing. I began to educate myself and I thought about AA...

I know many clean and sober and to mean the mind of someone clean is so much easier to talk to and I enjoy talking to them there is no "B.S." no lies no deception... There is not a need to. Someone using or drinking nearly always lies for their guilt overpowers their own morals so when around someone who cares for them they tend to make up stories to hide their using. Also their stories of getting "so Fxxked Up" were becoming the same stories just different people using the same substance having similar results.

But for me AA was a lot of work....The AA members I met and grew up around were so consumed with going to meetings, Trying to stay sober, working on staying sober, making up for missed meetings, relapsing, diseased with alcoholism, exposed to stories I chose not to hear, It seemed like they were replacing their "alcohol Addiction" for and AA lifestyle It just did not seem fun to me.

For a while I debated all my options as I continued working on trying not to drink, trying to stay sober, picturing how my life would change. I would turn into a boring party pooper that didn't drink. I remembered all the people I went out with all the fun we had all the crazy times. And then I remembered the results of those nights and I remembered that people wanted to hang out with me after work because I was fun to hang around with at work while I was Sober and going out only brought chaos and insanity. And the people I was continuing to hang out with were attracted to chaotic insane environments. That if I stayed the same at nite as I was during the day maybe my nights would not end with the results I received previously and that people would have good times and fun times as opposed to stories that would shock and awe people in the morning.

One day it hit me and I came to the realization... " I just don't wanna drink anymore" and that's it no more no less.
There are no classes needed for this there is no school no work. I thought and fought with can't for as long time before this... I can't drink = I am not allowed to drink = I have to stay sober...It's all the same the thought patterns seem more like a punishment, It was not the way I wanted to live. I just retrained my thinking and feelings to not wanting to do so. Eventually time went on and my life went on. When asked why I chose to stop and how I stop I just simply tell them a quote I learned from Sandra Bullock's movie 28 Days a movie on intervention, treatment, and rehab. After doing some soul searching of her own she simply stated "I have enough stories" and that applies to myself too. Has it been easy no... have I been tempted... yes. My first cookout I was offered and approached repeatedly to some heavy partiers on having some Jell-O Shots and some Mojitos (Bacardi was my favorite). I simply stated no thank you and asked for some Coke...His reply to me was..." this ain't that kind of party " my reply was no Jimmie some Cola. A laugh was had I grabbed a soda, the night continued, and I did not want to drink anymore.

Today I enjoy yard work, going to the beach, and working on the home. I find enjoyment in music, tv and sports when home. When out I have used comedy shows and live entertainment ( good bands and good music ) as a fun way for me to go and have some stimulation. I enjoy poker games and I like to have people come to gatherings enjoy them selves and drink. Instead of drinking I like preparing food and barbecuing as it tends to keep me busy and keeps guests full and enjoying themselves. When out I tend to drive and allow people to get as crazy as they feel the need to and just make sure they get home safely DD if needed, I do not look down on people that drink if I could maintain myself I would have probably enjoyed it a bit longer but that part of my life is now over. I am always here to offer advice for someone asking for it and the first question I usually ask is " Do you still want to drink" If I hear them say "I Can't Drink anymore " I simply give them the advice " when you don't want to drink anymore you won't " and I begin to help them retrain their thinking patterns as to what has helped me. The enjoyment I have with close friends is on another level than it ever was when I was drinking these are friends who accept me as I am. My sober self and I want it like that...I don't wanna drink anymore.

What I have learned is what no one person or one organization has the cure all to help someone quit drinking... I draw from every available resource apply techniques. AA has blessed me with the serenity prayer...
God Grant me...

the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change
the Courage to change the things I can
and the Wisdom to know the difference

and I thank them for that....If you have found this article at all helpful please respond to Ronnie1776@hotmail.com
