Work From Home - 3 Terrible Lies

Are you searching for a work from home opportunity? Walk with me now!

Has this ever happened to you? Picture this, you are surfing the internet, then you see this ad:

Work from home.
5 Rebates a Day = $106,300 Per Year.
Start earning today.

But, you quickly brush that aside and continue browsing the internet, when suddenly as you hover around your mouse over the underlined text, this attractive box suddenly appears with the following text content:

25/hour work from home.
Apply, start working today.
No experience necessary. TF/PT

Now the 25 per hour looks attractive especially - the idea that all you have to do is work from home. You think and toss this idea for a minute and as you are about to click on the link out of curiosity. Here comes your child running with a phone on the hand - aunty, aunty - - on the phone.

So you pick up the phone and for then next 10 or so minutes you get engaged in a lively conversation, you talk and whine about the increasing gas prices, how your boss is so demanding and unappreciative and all that kind of blah blah talk we all reserve to have with someone close.

By the time you hang up, your computer monitor is displaying your default - lousy - attractive - favorite... screen saver. Naturally you then shake the mouse and then pick up from there. Of course by now, you don't remember a thing about the work from home ad that had moments ago caught your attention.

By now it's almost time for you to get to bed - remember it's a week day and you have to wake up at five in the morning and get ready to hit the road before the morning traffic spoils your mood for the rest of the day. But as is always your culture, you open your Gmail/Yahoo/Hotmail account just to see if there is any thing new.

Aha these ad's are everywhere.

As you are about to close your mail box here comes another one:

I got scammed 21 times.

Avoid work from home scams.

I will show you a legitimate job.

You innocently click on the ad and before you know it for the next week, you find yourself clicking one ad to the next, getting convinced, becoming excited and eventually you find yourself buying one work from home program to another, jumping ship to any other opportunity that comes along. Before this happens to you here are three basic lies "about work from home job opportunities" that you should be aware of.

  1. There is no free money online. You will have to work hard to make money online. Yes you can make a living online working from home, but be prepared to do what it takes.

  2. Set up a website within minutes. Anyone can have a website; it's not a big deal anymore. What is important though is this simple question, is your website generating targeted visitors.

  3. Most work from home programs on the internet are either outright scams or disguised affiliate programs. Run as fast as your fingers and mouse would let you when you start to see claims like auto pilot program, automated sales, 24/7 free traffic and such outrageous claims

There you have it, 3 basic lies you will see over and over again in most work from home ads as you serve the internet.

Let me also be quick to point out that there are people earning their living online, yes it's possible to work from home and make a living, but be careful on which program you choose.

Do not be deceived. Can you really be able to make money from parked domain names? Well discover by visiting my comprehensive why park reviews homepage and get all the answers you have been asking yourself

Geena Davis Commander in Chief? No! Amelia Earhart? Yes!

Geena Davis Commander in Chief? No! Amelia Earhart? Yes!

The title is what turned me off.

I've not watched one episode of the in-troubled television series.

My problem is that George Bush II has always envisioned himself as Commander in Chief.

The President's great role was when he landed a jet on a carrier and said, "Mission Accomplished!"

That reminds me of the Little Dictator.

Charlie Chaplain played such roles and Gilligan's Island had a segment that showed where the exiled president of a revolution-torn country visited the island.

In her book, "Leap of Faith," Queen Noor of Jordan quotes George Bush Sr. as saying to her husband, "I will not allow this little dictator [Saddam Hussein] to control 25 percent of the civilized world's oil." See http://www.coalition-of-the-willing.org/war/little_dictator.html

Now you know for sure why George II invaded Iraq, that and because Hussein sent a death squad to Kuwait to murder his parents.

I'd be angry too.

Anyway, I prefer Geena Davis in baseball garb playing "big sister" rather in a suit playing "big brother."

The White House is a place I do not wish to visit, even if the beautiful Geena is there. George II might be creeping around.

I think a series starring Geena Davis as Amelia Earhart would have pleased me. See Amelia's biography at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amelia_Earhart. Geena would have played the role perfectly. The script writers could even have her survive the crash into the Pacific Ocean and produced a serious sequel to Gilligan's Island. What a smash hit that would be. Amelia growing up in the Midwest, taking up flying, falling in love, crashing into the Pacific, eating coconuts, starting her first fire on the deserted desert island, fighting cannibals, dying a lonely death, etc. she could even join with that drinking radioman of hers and have a couple of kids before he died,a boy and a girl. They could show up later at Harvard or Stanford. Can't you just imagine it? I'd be anxiously waiting for every episode. I'm going to copyright this paragraph right now: copyright©2006 John T. Jones, Ph.D. Now, don't any of you script writers try to steal this television special, series, movie idea. All rights reserved.

Maybe I should have given Geena a chance as Commander in Chief. I would be more inclined to watch the show if it were called Lady President.

Well, there was one other reason I didn't want to watch the show. I was afraid that Hillary Rodham might be crawling around in there somewhere.

Worse still. What if late one night Geena heard a noise and caught Dick Cheney creeping around, looking through her bedroom door keyhole?

I hate horror stories.

The End

Clinton, Hillary, Geena, Davis, Earhart, Amelia, television, script idea, series, show, ratings, commander, chief, Rodham

How the Environment Could Use the HHO System

The environment is not as it used to be like back in the day... Nowadays with millions of cars on the road. It plays a small part in polluting our air. Some people say that car pollutants is a big part of the degrading environment we have today. So what can be done? If the very car you drive is hurting the planet and years later the environment will be so bad that our great grand kids will live in glass dome cities to protect themselves from acid rain, and the UV rays will melt all the ice caps on the planet.

What if hydrogen generators can play a huge part in cleaning the air and helping the environment and ozone repair itself by our cars having less unburned fuel escaping out of our exhaust system and going into the air and all we need to do is get educated on how hydrogen can have a roll in being a fuel additive to help us breathe better and save the environment.

We can say... "The car of the future will no longer need fossil fuel"... But what about tomorrow? We still have millions of gas combustion engines running everyday... Since the 1930's. Plus all the car and truck makers in the world are still making gas/diesel combustion engines. Its not going to stop anytime soon. It would be very wise to work with what we got now and today's technology of efficient running vehicles with HHO systems will be a blue print for the future cars and trucks to more likely run on just hydrogen alone.

Fossil fuel will run out. A natural resource like this cannot last forever, it will have its end. Just look at our consumption of fuel each year... Its in the billions of gallons, and that's just one year! Once its burned up its not recyclable.

For all the vehicles that's out on the road today all of the (Diesel and Gasoline) fuel combustion engines, still have a large amount of unburned fuel leaving the exhaust system and going into the air, Hydrocarbon (gasoline) fuels are extremely dangerous to us humans and the atmosphere.

When a vehicle has a HHO system installed in their vehicle the hydrogen generator will give the engine a fuel additive that will help burn a great more of the unburned fuel particles and add a bit more horse power to your engine. Then when it leaves the exhaust system the hydrocarbon (gasoline) particles is far less than before giving you an efficient running vehicle with vastly reduced emissions and giving the environment time to restore itself.

Here is a benefit for using HHO on your vehicle, it will help in cleaning the carbon in your engine and help your engine run more efficiently and as it gets cleaner the engine should run smoother and have a small increase in horsepower. And last but not least, it will help your car on miles per gallon. Your mpg will rise adding more miles to your tank of gas. I bought myself an eBook about Hydrogen generators on what it does how it works and how to build one for yourself.

If you would like more information on this Please go to http://AlternativeEnergyeBooks.com (Hybrid Water Power). I have seen and read a few ebooks on hydrogen generators and this latest book I got has the best information you can get and it is easy to understand. It even has pictures...

Thanks for reading my article and I hope you will come back for more.

It's Time to Start Your Own Economy

How many times have you presented your network marketing opportunity to someone and they laughed at you? How many times did you honestly try to help someone learn how to build their own economy? You may have been the laughing stock then, but I bet they aren't laughing now.

You have probably been called a "get rick quicker" and all along they were the ones selling us down the river behind our backs. Wall Street took a darn hard hit just last month and they lined their pockets with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. At one time or another we have all been told that the network marketing business is just dirty money. So who would you care to bet is right now?

The end result is that the network marketing industry may be the most moral money left on the plant. Why, you may ask? The reason is because you only earn on the positive influence you spread around. This is one of the few industries that if you don't work, you don't get paid. It's as easy as that.

The way to make it out of all this mess is to start your own economy. You can no longer expect your customers or business from your Mom and Pop business to always be there. Time has proven that Networking Marketing is the answer. It will always be here. People are always searching for a way to provide more income for themselves and their families. You don't have to quit your day job but do understand this. The only people who have jobs are people who never learned how to create their own work. Don't continue to be a slave to the corporate world.

Make a decision for yourself starting right this minute. Be among the 3% who can pay for your gasoline and groceries with cash and not credit. Get rid of that heavy debt.

Your new network marketing business is the new bank that can't be taken away by anyone. Only you can make that decision for yourself.

What Makes You Fun to Listen to on the Radio?

When I got my first radio job back in the dark ages of tape cartridge players (imagine an 8-track tape player... oops, if you don't know what a 8-track tape player is, well ask someone over 45!) and records and turntables, I thought all there was to radio was playing those records and being able to read without showing my "hick accent". Then I found out there was more to the business than that, that you could actually entertain. I also figured out that in most stations, the only thing different was what happened between the records when the dj turned on the microphone and opened his (or her) mouth.

It's called being a radio personality. Personality can be confused with telling jokes and making people laugh out loud, or doing funny voices or something else borderline irritating. Sure it's entertaining to be able to share a joke with your listeners, but you find out quickly that most jokes are a lot funnier in a bar than on the air with you laughing at your own jokes. Many new broadcasters think they are funny and tell bad jokes and some djs know they're not funny, so they go buy a book and tell bad one liners on the air. Both get the same result: People hitting the button and going to a station that is playing some music that doesn't annoy them.

You don't have to be naturally funny to get your listener's attention and loyalty, but you do need to know what you should say that will be entertaining and keep listeners doing just that, listening. In fact, you can be entertaining just by knowing the secrets of being a good radio personality. I'm gonna share some tips in the next few lines about being entertaining, so stay tuned!

First way to be entertaining and a radio personality... SMILE. Yes, it's just you and a microphone, but smiling can make a huge difference in how you sound to the people on the other end of the radio. You see, when you smile, it comes across to the person listening to you. Notice, I said the "person" listening to you. If there is one person or a hundred thousand people listening to you, they all listen with only two ears. So only smile and talk to two ears. Not four or 10 or one hundred ears, just two at a time, two ears attached to one person. That secret alone, if mastered by you will make you a good radio personality. Talk to only one person at a time. Radio is the ONLY intimate, personal medium. It's just you and your listener. One on one. So smile when you talk to the person on the other end of the mic listening to you on the radio. Listeners respond much better to "hello and thanks for listening tonight" rather than "hello everybody, hope you're having a great time here in the city tonight". You just lost that bond and connection with the person you want to be entertained by listening to you.

Be happy. If you're having a bad day, your listener doesn't need to know all the gory details. You are supposed to entertain them with the weather forecast, letting 'em know what's happening around town, and sharing some details about sponsors of your show. Your smiling voice and relaxed voice do just that. Your job as an entertainer is to be friendly and share one to one and make folks feel a little warm and fuzzy when they hit the button on the radio and here you, or when they type your website into the handy dandy browser.

Back to when I was wet behind the ears and in radio. I thought it would be cool to be able to do celebrity voices and have conversations with myself. I also thought I could copy the big city dj's by using their voice inflection with my stories... I was wrong on both counts. Fortunately I had no talent for doing voices so I never wasted a lot of mine and my listener's time trying to be cute talking to myself. And it didn't take long for me to figure out that I had to talk like me and not like the big city guy. I didn't try to convince myself that I was funny. But I did want to be interesting to listening.

That's when I learned that beaming into the microphone with a smile and talking with one person at a time was the way to be entertaining. Then I looked at some of the folks who I really respected in radio. Paul Harvey, possibly the best news commentator of all time on radio, is VERY entertaining and talks only to me when I am listening. Paul's never told a joke, yet when I listen to him, I smile.

Another secret to being a good "radio personality" is to share stories with the audience. Not long stories that allow you to listen to you talk, but short 15 to 30 second stories that use word pictures that allow your listener to imagine himself seeing the story. When you were little, you were told bedtime stories to make you feel content and able to go to sleep. Now you want to entertain with short little slice of life stories, kinda like Paul Harvey tells, to make your listener feel content, relaxed and happy. Don't put 'em to sleep though, they might be driving!

If you feel the need to be funny, learn how somewhere other than behind the mic. I found that by working as a night club dj for years I could talk to them, get them to respond, and develop my rhythm for being entertaining. I was able to take that back to the radio shows I had and it helped me to be funny on the radio. Do stand up in a comedy club. Learn how to make people chuckle when you talk. They will carry a chuckle around all day and share it with friends.

You don't have to be funny to be entertaining or considered a "radio personality". Just make your listener smile while she's got you "turned on" and you will be taking a step in the right direction of being the difference between the records.

Writing 101 - Writing the Keyword Article for the Internet

Many of us write for the Internet. That is we submit articles to services like EzineArticles.com and they make them available to surfers on the Internet. For example, this article is on writing, so if you put "how to write" in your search box, you will come up with this article and many more like it.

What, it didn't come up? Darn!

To see the effectiveness of Internet article writing go to onthetopof.com and put "Taylor Jones the Hack Writer" in the search box. This is the site of the Internet's Business Search Engine and Directory. You will see that there are about 15,400 articles referenced on that site. I sometimes use Taylor Jones the Hack Writer in articles where I don't want folks, like the editors of ezineariticles.com editors, to take me seriously.

Now do the very same thing for "John T. Jones, Ph.D." Now you will see that there are over 431,700 articles referenced. You will see that I write over a broad subject range. If you want to improve your marketing techniques or if you want to learn how to make dumplings, you will find it there.

This high Internet presence is why writers write for the Internet. If you look at the bottom of this article you will see a profile for John T. Jones, Ph.D. There is at least one website listed. My main site is http://www.tjbooks.com. There you can buy one of my novels, read a novelette that I wrote to demonstrate novel writing software, or go to one of my sites to buy a flagpole. In other words, some traffic is generated from writing for the Internet.

I've written over 400 articles for http://www.ezinearticles.com. Some articles are much more popular than others. Right now, the hits on an article I wrote about Anna Nicole Smith exceed those of other articles I wrote earlier than the Anna Nicole article. The reason is that Anna Nicole Smith has recently been a huge search item. There are almost 2,000,000 articles on the subject at http://www.onthetopof.com and over 12,000,000 pages at http://www.google.com

When you write an article for the Internet and put it up as a page on your server, you can add keywords in the meta file. You can also do that for the same article submitted through a service such as http://www.ezinearticles.com.

Which article version will get the most hits?

The one submitted to the article service because they have a tremendous number of hits each day, they promote your article, and Google loves them. So unless you have many visitors to your site, you will do much better by submitting to an article service.

Keywords

I don't often write an article because of a popular keyword. I wrote the article about blonds who have died because I feel for these young people who have a desire for fame and then are killed or die tragically. I wrote, that like Marilyn Monroe, the scene would soon turn to murder for Anna Nicole, not that she was murdered but some more important reason must be the "real" cause of death.

If you are listening to the idiots on the news channels, you can see that is already happening. They could care less about Anna Nicole Smith. She was just a spark that passed by. They just want the "murder" story no matter who gets hurt.

So far, it has escalated to "possible criminal negligence" because Anna would not go to the hospital because of the media attention she would receive. "Nobody" forced her to go, so she died. Whoever that "nobody" was is "possibly guilty of criminal negligence" because the media says so.

That is why the choice of keywords is so important if you want article popularity. Today, if you wrote an article on Anna Nicole Smith and placed her name in the title of the article, in the content of the article, and the keyword entry, you would get a lot of readers.

I wrote an article about why David Letterman wears white socks. I think I called it Top Ten Reason David Letterman Wears White Socks.

David Letterman is a popular (but strange) man and the keyword "David Letterman" is very popular. If you put "David Letterman" in your Google search box, you will see over two million articles. "Jay Leno" brings almost that many. I have written a few articles giving new jokes to Leno.

I'm not particularly interested in article popularity per se. It give me a bigger thrill when some kind soul gives me 5 stars for an article. Then I know I gave that reader enjoyment (or hit a nerve) which is my main goal. If I write an article on an engineering or scientific subject I know that it will not have the popularity of an article on how to make enchiladas. But that is OK. Writers write, right?

I write for children and teens quite often. My articles are sometimes entitled UFO: Subject. I write about my imaginary and alien friends such as the sprite Xrytspet and Phontos the Last Chican--who is Big Foot to you. These articles turn out to be popular with adults who are just kids that have grown up. I know the kids will not go to my site and order a novel or flagpole. That is not why I'm writing.

If you put "UFO: Phontos the Last Chican" in Google, you will get 48 entries. If you put only "Phontos the Last Chican" in Google you will get 525 entries. You will see that some of these sources are references right to the article of that title but others will be to sites that have copied my article to their publication legally.

That brings up an important point. Over 5,000 publishers have reviewed my some 400 articles. Some of these have republished article in their ezines or on their web pages. When you write for an article service, you get a tremendous additional exposure bonus. Almost 200,000 folks have reviewed my articles directly. I don't know how many have read the articles in ezines or on other web pages--but the number is significant.

You also will see is your search that some have stolen my title so that you will go to their irrelevant web page. I guess I could tell Google about this and get them de-listed, but who has time for that?

If you want to know where your article is copied, just put the title of the article in the Google search bar and you will see which web pages have copied it. You still will not know which ezines picked it up.

How to Find Keyword Popularity

I get an email once a week or so that gives me a list of the most popular current keywords. You can get the same list at http://tinyurl.com/2hzxfs (Word Tracker) by just signing up for the free Keyword Expert Newsletter. While you are there, take a tour of the site to see how keyword statistics are generated.

If you put the keywords "Most Popular Keywords' in the Google Search box you will get almost 40 million entries. That is because this is a very important subject to internet users, especially the sellers. If you can find popular keywords not yet discovered by others, you can generate significant traffic to your site.

Last October, Anna Nicole Smith was Number 152 on the Word Tracker list. In December, she was not in the top 300. On February 20, 2007, she was Number 1. (She had died on February 8, 2007.) Today, Anna Nicole Smith is Number 49. That is still a very high popularity. When will she leave the top 300? That depends on the media.

Blogging and Pinging

When you write or update an article, you should put it on your blog. Set up your free blog site at http://www.blogspot.com or such service. Go to the actual URL for your article and put that URL in your blog as the reference URL.

Just putting the article blog on your blog site is not enough. Go to one of the free pinging services such as http://www.pingomatic.com and ping your blog to the world. Enter the title of the article and the URL of your blog. You can ping an article more than once.

You will be famous writer yet!

The End

Ezine Publishers Avoid the Filtering Traps & Get Your Ezine Into Your Reader's Hands

So you think all of your subscribers are receiving
your ezine? Better think again. With the rise of
Spam filtering software, both by ISP's and end users,
odds are your ezine may be getting deleted before
it's even delivered to your subscribers.

There are two main types of filters: those installed
on the end user's computer and server side programs
used by Internet Service Providers. The most popular
program used is http://SpamAssassin.org

So what does this mean to you as a publisher? If
you want to make sure your ezine is being read
you'll want to pay close attention to the tips
given here. After all, do you spend your time
writing a good ezine just to have it sent to
the trash? I didn't think so.

Spam filters work by counting the words in your ezine that fall on
their "target lists," each of which has been assigned a numeric
value. After they're done "scanning" your email, they
add up your score. If your total value is above
a set number, it is determined to be "spam" and
sent to the trash bin. Gone forever, and your
subscribers are none the wiser. Filters search
the message, the header, the subject line and
looks at the formatting as well. To see what
Spam Assassin looks at go to....
http://www.spamassassin.org/tests.html

I personally use filtering software due to the
hundreds of unsolicited messages I receive daily. But I
always go through the "trash bin" first and
glance through it before hitting the delete key
to make sure it hasn't captured something I want
or need. The problem is that most users
of filtering software either
don't want to spend the time, or don't know how
to check it to see what was "killed." So
many of them may be missing your ezine, even
though they have subscribed to receive it.

Now do you see how tough it is just getting
your ezine into the hands of your subscribers?
The trick is to be "smarter" then the filters and
utilize some of the great free tools that have
sprung up to help publishers with this exact
problem.

Before sending out your next issue, run it through
one of these free checkers to see if it will make
it past the filters and find out what your ezines
total score is along with tips on how to improve.

1) SiteSell Spam Check
http://spamcheck.sitesell.com

Go to the above url or submit your ezine to
mailto:spamcheck@sitesell.net with the word TEST
in all caps before your ezine name in the subject
line.

Example: TEST Merle's Mission Ezine

2) Lyris Content Checker
http://www.lyris.com/contentchecker/

Runs your ezine through a battery of tests used
by "Spam Assassin." Paste your ezine into the
web based form, hit submit and the results
will be emailed to you.

3) AssuranceSys.com- If you don't mind parting
with some of your cash, Assurance Systems will
run a variety of tests for you and let you know
how your ezine stacks up against the filters and
if you've been blacklisted. Check them out at
[http://AssuranceSys.com]

So what's considered "bad" to filtering software
and what can you do to reduce your score? I thought
you'd never ask. Here are some tips to help:

1) Be careful with your subject line- Avoid
the word free or using all caps or excessive
punctuation.

2) Using a lot of fancy HTML formatting can
hurt you. Many filters will kill HTML emails
as a given mistaking them for viruses.

3) A larger size can actually help you. Anywhere
from 20k to 40K is good and will actually subtract
bad points from your total score.

4) Blocking: Make sure your IP address is not
being blacklisted. This can happen if your site
is hosted on an open relay or you're sharing an
IP address with someone who is a known spammer.
You don't want to get yourself blacklisted so
be careful here.

5) Avoid the use of the words free, click here,
remove, spam, and any others known to be on
the list. This is pretty hard. Some publishers
have resorted to putting * or ^ in exchange for
letters. For example fr^e or Sp*m- It's highly
debatable if this will work or not since most
filters will be catching on to this technique
soon if they haven't already.

6) Set up free accounts at Yahoo and Hotmail
and subscribe to your own ezine and monitor the
boxes to see if your ezine is making it through
their filters.

For further tips I recommend the following resources:

"Avoid the Spam Filter Trap"

"List of Filtering Trigger Words"

"20 Ways Opt in Emailers can Outsmart Spam Filters"

Nice list of trigger words here:

As you can see, publishing an ezine and getting it
to your subscribers is no longer an easy task. One
practice that has been adopted by some publishers is
to send a follow-up email after your ezine has gone out,
stating that it has been sent, including a url
where your subscribers can go to read the issue online. I do this
and every week that link registers 50 to 100 clicks,
so obviously a lot of people aren't getting it
the first time.

There's also a new service called Habeas.com which
is a whitelisting tool. For a large sum of cash
they'll give you a line of code to add to your
email headers which guarantees your message will
pass through the filters. They have special
relationships with ISP's and mail filters that
recognize the header labeling you a "good guy."
It's not inexpensive. Visit their site for more
info on how it works at http://habeas.com

There's no way to beat filtering, but by being
informed and knowing what you're up against and
how to improve, you'll stand a much better chance
of getting your ezine where it needs to be. And
that's why you started publishing in the 1st place,
isn't it?
